UHAI-CT Project to Continue with Activities

The Universal HIV/AIDS Intervention for Counseling and Testing (UHAI-CT) program has received a no-cost extension from project donor, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)to continue implementing the program activities in the country. Read more here.

Community Group Meetings Deliver Family Planning Messages

T-MARC has piloted the use of community group meetings to deliver family planning messages. A total of 90 community groups meetings (including SACCOS), environmental and youth groups) were sponsored in Dar es Salaam and used as platforms to conduct family planning education to members. Read more.

UHAI CT - VAC and GBV Training for Health Care

The UHAI-CT program that provides free HIV counselling and testing services for key populations conducted training for health care providers on gender based violence (GBV) and violence against children. Click here for more

HIV/AIDS Prevalence in Njombe

At 14%, Njombe region has the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in  Tanzania. T-MARC's UHAI-CT program recently provided free HIV-Counselling and Testing Services in the region. Click here for more.

TMARC Making Health Educators!

T-MARCs Jipende Salons Project continues to turn beauty salon attendants into peer health educators, and beauty salons into health centers for women's health. In Iringa Region 30 salon attendants from 15 beauty salons recently graduated as peer educators. Click here to  find out more.

T-MARC Closes CBD Programs in Dodoma, Tarime and Sengerema

T-MARC Tanzania has closed the Community Based Distributor (CBD) program in Dodoma, Tarime and Sengerema districts. Launched in 2010, the CBD program ensured that the more remote areas of Tanzania had access to health products and information.  Read more.

New GIRLS EMPOWERMENT Project Takes Off

The main goal of the USAID funded Empowering Girls In and Out of School Project is to sustainably provide low cost sanitary pads and provide BCC to reduce risky sexual behaviour among adolescents in and out of school in Lindi and Mtwara regions of Tanzania, with the ultimate goal of reducing schoolgirl pregnancies, school drop outs and sexually transmitted diseases including HIV. Our Roots

On 1 April 2007, the Tanzania Marketing and Communications Company Limited, now known as T-MARC Tanzania, was launched as Tanzania's first independent, locally run social marketing organisation. The non-profit organisation originated from the T-MARC Project, managed by the Academy for Educational Development (AED) and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
